TempTurn ("we", "us") operates tempturn.com. This page explains what data we handle and the choices you have. The short version: the temperature you enter is processed on your own device and never leaves your browser.

Which tool this covers

The tool this page covers is TempTurn, a temperature converter. Put simply, it converts between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin, showing the formula for each scale alongside wind chill, heat index and common cooking temperatures, and the way it does so is this: it converts through Celsius as the common scale, so the exact offset of 273.15 for Kelvin and the 32-degree offset for Fahrenheit are applied consistently rather than chained in a way that drifts. Everything stated here applies to that tool and the values it handles, and to nothing else.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from the temperature you enter, and it is usually opened for things like converting a weather forecast. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

Data you give the tool

On tempturn.com the computation never leaves the browser. TempTurn reads your input in the page itself, produces the result there, and sends nothing over the network — which is also why the tool goes on working if you disconnect after loading it.

When this policy is revised

This policy is reviewed when the site changes. Any material revision is shown by the "last updated" date at the top of the page.

Information collected as you browse

Delivering a page necessarily produces some technical detail at the edge: an IP address, a browser string, the path requested and when. TempTurn uses that only to serve and protect the site. It is not stitched together with whatever you enter into the tool.

Advertising, cookies and your choices

Two things can set cookies on tempturn.com: our own consent flag, which remembers your answer to the banner, and the third-party advertising network, which may use them for interest-based ads. Refuse them all and the tool still behaves exactly as before.

Analytics and aggregate statistics

Analytics on tempturn.com are limited to counting: visits, a rough location and which tools are opened. The figures are aggregated rather than tied to a person, and none of them carries what you typed.

Your input and what happens to it

Every value you type is handled by the page itself. Once you close it there is no record of what you entered, because none was created.

How long data is kept, and how it is protected

Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.

Children and the site

These tools are meant for a general audience and are not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly gather personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided some, contact us and we will remove it.

Your privacy rights

You may have statutory rights over personal data — to access, amend, erase or object to its processing, depending on your jurisdiction. You can exercise them by writing to us; in most cases there will be no stored data to act on.
